Her career began as a cross-country skier. She was a part of the East German team that won the 4 5km bronze award at 1985’s FIS National Nordic Ski World Championships at Seefeld. Her father, Henner Misersky who worked as a trainer for his East German team until 1985 did not allow steroids to his daughter as well as others on the team, he got dismissed. Antje Misersky was put under pressure and was forced to quit her job during the GDR.
The year 1989 was when she began biathlon in 1989. In the 1992 Winter Olympics held in Albertville she took home the gold medal in the 15 km single and two silver medals for the 7.5 km sprint as well as in the 3 three-way relay of 7.5 km. In 1994, at the Winter Olympics at Lillehammer she took home another silver medal for the relay (4 4 7.5 kilometers). Harvey also took home two medals during the relay in the World Championships (1995: gold and in 1991, bronze).
