Slama played the entire 2008 season playing for the Twins A affiliate that is advanced known as named the Fort Myers Miracle. He had a 2-0 mark with an 0.50 earned average of runs and 12 saves during the first half of 2008’s season, helping Fort Myers capture the Florida State League first-half West Division title. Alongside teammates Robert Delaney, Brian Dinkelman, Jeff Manship, Wilson Ramos and Danny Valencia, Slama represented the Miracle in the 2008 Florida State League All-Star game.

After his time for Mater Dei High School, Slama played two seasons of college baseball at Santa Ana College from 2004-2005 and then transferred into the University of San Diego, where he was a player with the Toreros in the year 2006. Slama was picked at the 39th spot in the 2006 Major League Baseball Draft by the Minnesota Twins. But he didn’t sign his contract and was sent back in San Diego for the 2007 season. Before the 2007 draft He signed a pro agreement with Minnesota.
He made his debut in 2007 when he was a member of his Rookie-level Elizabethton Twins, and after just six games, in which he struck out 10 batters in 7.1 innings, he was awarded his promotion into his current team, the Beloit Snappers.
He spent most of 2011 with Triple-A Rochester, but did play 2 games with the Twins in late May/early June.
