The film follows the pregnancy of a comedian (Julia Jentsch) and her husband (Bjarne Madel) opting for an abortion that is legal to their child who was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. It was the first time that there was a breach of the legality of late-term abortion in the cinema and was considered taboo by the majority females in Germany faced with a similar dilemma.

In the year 2009 Anne Zohra Berrached directed her first short film Der Pausenclown (The Class Clown) about the life of a Lebanese neighbor and comedian from Berlin-Neukolln. The film was later broadcast through the German television channel WDR. The same year, after a failed attempt to gain admission into Film University Potsdam, Anne Zohra Berrached began her studies with one of Germany’s most well-known film colleges in Germany the Filmacademy Baden Wurttemberg in Ludwigsburg.
