Anna Aguilar- Amat (full name Anna Aguilar Amat Castillo born on 31 Jan. 1962, in Barcelona) is a Catalan poet translator, researcher, and professor at the university in the field of Terminology as well as Computational Linguistics. She is a prolific writer primarily in Catalan (as poets who writes exclusively in Catalan as a poet, which she uses in certain of her research and essays also) however she also does some writing in Spanish (primarily essays and research). She holds a PhD at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, where she teaches Terminology as it relates to translation in the Translation Faculty. She has published five collections of poetry and won numerous prizes in the field of Catalan poetry. Her poems are included in a variety of anthologies featuring Catalan poets. She is translated in Spanish, English, French, Italian, Sardinian, Macedonian, Finnish, Arabian, Turkish, Greek, German and Slovenian. She was featured within The Anthology New European Poets by Wayne Miller & Kevin Prufer, Minnesota 2008.

Since 2003, she’s been the president of QUARKpoesia (Aula of Poesia at the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) which is a university-based association that promotes poetry and the translation of poetry from lesser spoken dialects (minority writings). Since 2006, she has founded and started the poetry publication series Refraccions (Refractions) that is focused on publishing bilingual poetry collections, via the Universitat de Barcelona’s publishing house, the Servei de Publicacions.

Alongside the famous Catalan poet Francesc Parcerisas. She has published a poetry collection Coses Petites : poemes a four-mans (Little Things: Poetry Written by Two Hands, Miquel Plana, Olot 2002) featuring illustrations by the publisher Miquel Plana as well as the collection of essays, El placer of the lectura (The pleasure of Reading, Editorial Sintesis, Madrid, 2004, in Spanish).
