His professional career started when he was just 19 years old. He established Visinema Pictures, an award-winning Film Production Company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. He has produced a variety of commercial videos for TV and hundreds of music videos including a feature documentary as well as five feature-length films. The second film he made, Hari Untuk Amanda (2010) was nominated for the Citra Award 2010 for 8 categories, including Best Director best actor (Oka Antara) and Best actress (Fanny Friana) in addition to Best Picture.
In 2016 Angga directed Surat dari Praha (Letters from Prague) A film about the deportation from Indonesian student from Indonesia in the year 1965. The film received critical acclaim and received numerous awards, like Best Film, Best Actor and Best Director at the 2016 Usmar Ismail Award.

His other films are Hari Untuk Amanda (2009), Filosofi Kopi (2015), Bukaan 8 (2017) and Filosofi Kopi 2: Ben & Jodi (2017).
