Angelo Colombo is one of the most popular and richest Italian footballer who was born on February 24, 1961 in Mezzago, Lombardy, Italy. Angelo Colombo (born 24 February 1961 in Mezzago, Italy) is an former Italian soccer player, who played with Milan at midfield and was a part of the team’s European Cup victories in 1989 and 1990. He’s now an scout for the club.

He was in the 1990s when he was transferred to Bari in 1990, on the request of Salvemini for the purpose of replacing Carbone who had acquired from his previous club Milan. Then, in 1992, he quit the club and took a break from football. However, in 1994 his return to the sport, signing with Australian team Marconi Stallions, with whom was his last match of the 1994-95 season.

In May 2010, he took charge of Carpendolo during the 2009–10 Lega Pro Second Division play-offs against Villacidrese, which ended with the club’s relegation to Serie D at the end of the season. The following season, the team were defeated in the Serie D play-off against Mobilieri Ponsacco, but the team were not relegated to the Eccellenza League, as they were re-drawn. On 30 October 2011, Colombo was sacked, as the team were second last during the 2011–12 Serie D season.

Although he never got a chance to play in the Italian senior team, Colombo played for the Italy Under-21 team at in 1988’s Summer Olympics at which time they made it to the semi-finals ending the competition with a fourth-place finish.

Angelo Colombo began his career with the Monza in 1979, initially with the youth team, at 13 years old, before making his professional debut for this club Serie B. He joined the club in 1984. joined the club by the Pierpaolo Marino’s Avellino team. He began his Serie A debut with the club on the 16th of September, 1984, during the 0-0 home draw against Roma.

In the following season, he joined Udinese in 1985 and then in 1987, he signed by Milan under the direction of manager Arrigo Sacchi. He made his debut for the club at the Coppa Italia on the 23rd of August 1987, when Milan won an 5-0 win against Bari. He enjoyed a highly successful three-season stint with Milan and won both the 1987 and 1988 Serie A title, the 1988 Supercoppa Italiana, consecutive European Cups (1988-89 and 1989-90) and winning the 1989 Intercontinental Cup, and the 1989 European Super Cup, with his last appearance being Milan’s 1-0 win against Benfica during the 1990 European Cup Final on 23 May. He was part of 115 games in the club’s squad between 1987 between 1987 and 1990, scoring seven goals. All of them occurred from the 777 Serie A appearances with the club.

After retiring, Colombo coached the Milan youth side for five years, and later became a their co-ordinator for four more years, and subsequently a scout for the team. On 26 January 2009, he signed a contract to coach Montebelluna in Serie D, replacing Gianfranco Borgato, and saving the team from relegation in the play-off against Somma.
