Angelline Osegge Biography

Angelline Osegge is one of the most popular and richest Politician who was born on August 12, 1969 in Soroti, Soroti District, Uganda. The girl was born Angelline Asio on the 12th of August, 1969 within Soroti District, in the Eastern Region of Uganda. She attended schools in the area for her education prior to university. She was accepted into Makerere University, Uganda’s oldest and biggest public university which she graduated from in 1994 with the Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science. Then, in 2007, she enrolled in Uganda Martyrs University. Uganda Martyrs University, graduating in 2009, earning the Diploma in Microfinance.

Angeline Osege is a vivacious and active opposition member in the parliament. On August 13, 2013, she was exiled for three days by Speaker’s deputy Jacob Oulanyah, for “shouting the most” in the course of the passing of the “Public Order Management Bill”. In September of 2017, at an introduction to the amendment that would increase the age limit for presidents, Angeline Osege was injured when fighting took place in the chamber of parliament. She was admitted to hospital as because of her injuries.

The Hon. Osegge was first elected to the Ugandan parliament in the year 2011 as a member of an opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) political party. The year 2016 was the last time she was able to keep her place in the parliament. In parliament she is the chairman of the panel on public Accounts. Since September she is the Vice Chairman of the African Organisation of Public Accounts Committees (AFROPAC).

Angelline Asio Osegge, also Angelina Osege (born 8 December 1969) is an Ugandan female politician and social worker who is currently the current Member of Parliament for the Soroti District for the Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) in the 10th Ugandan Parliament (2016 to 2021). She is the Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee for the Central Government.

Before becoming a full-time politician prior to that, she was an employee of the community development department at World Vision International and later as a Credit Officer at Pride Microfinance Limited, a microfinance institution owned by the government that serves the most vulnerable segments of society who aren’t served or inaccessible to financial services via Ugandan commercial banks. There, she was promoted to the position that of Branch Manager. From 2006 to 2008, she served as the executive director of “Local Enterprise Assistance Programme” which is a Ugandan non-profit organisation.
