Altynai Abduakhimkyzy Asylmuratova, (Kazakh; Altynai Abduakhimk’yzy Asylmu’ratova, Altynai Abdyahimqyzy Asylmuratova, born 1 January 1961), is the artistic director of Astana Opera’s ballet company. She was also a prima ballerina at the Kirov Ballet/Mariinsky Theatre, as well as a guest artist around the world.
She was named artistic director of Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet in 2000. Soon after, she quit dancing to focus her energies on the Vaganova Academy. The Ministry of Culture appointed Nikolai Tsiskaridze as the new Vaganova rector in 2013. Asylmuratova had to resign her position. Asylmuratova has been the artistic director for the ballet at Astana Opera in Kazakhstan since 2015. Asylmuratova was appointed rector of Kazakhstan Academy of Choreography in 2016 by Nursultan Nazabev.
Asylmuratova was more popular in Western theaters that her home theater because of her frequent appearances abroad. Her beauty and dancing were both highly admired. She performed all of the classic ballet roles in Swan Lake and Don Quixote as well as La Bayadere and Mikhail Fokine pieces like The Firebird and Les Sylphides. Her repertoire also included modern classics such as Romeo and Juliet and works by Roland Petit and George Balanchine. Konstantin Zaklinsky, a fellow Mariinsky dancer, is her husband. They have a daughter Anastasia Zaklinskaya (born in 1993), who is currently a dancer with the Astana Opere. Farukh Ruzimatov was her most frequent ballet partner.

Asylmuratova was the daughter of a family that included dancers in Alma-Ata (Kazakhstan). Asylmuratova’s family moved to St. Petersburg in order for her to attend the Vaganova Choreographic Institute. She joined the Kirov Ballet as a dancer in 1978 after she graduated from the Inna Zubkovskaya class. She was promoted to principal dancer after four years of service in the corps de ballet.
