Although Parker credits himself as Sid Vicious’s official biographer, often promoting his friendship with Sid’s mother Anne Beverley, Parker admitted to Podcast A Strange Life on 20 May 2018 that he had lied about the fact that Anne Beverley had told Parker personally she administered the fatal dose of heroin to Sid on the night he died in the documentary Final 24 and its episode on Sid Vicious in order to command a higher fee for his story. Since this admission several threads have appeared on online message boards regarding items of Sid Vicious memorabilia and their authenticity that people had purchased from Parker.
